This MSA 10092036 PremAire Cadet 10-Minute Emergency Escape Supplied Air Respirator with Advantage 4000 Facepiece and 10-Minute Aluminum Cylinder is a pressure-demand, Type C, supplied-air respirator designed to provide users with a choice of respiratory protection options. The respirator serves as a basic supplied-air device. A duo-twin option converts the respirator into a combination supplied air/air-purifying device. This allows workers in Non-IDLH Atmospheres to move freely from station to station without being tethered to an air-supply hose. The 10-minute escape cylinder permits emergency escape from Immediately Dangerous to Life and Health (IDLH) Atmospheres. Designed for a variety of applications, PremAire Cadet Respirators are well suited for use in the chemical and petrochemical processing industries, utilities work, general industry and asbestos and lead paint abatement, they also can be used for pharmaceutical applications and for hazardous materials clean-up work in Non-IDLH (Immediately Dangerous to Life or Health) Environments. This unit provides 10 minutes of protection to escape from an IDLH Environment in the event of emergency and includes a hard carry case. The PremAire Cadet Respirator is a pressure-demand device, meaning it delivers respirable air to the user "on demand." As such, it maintains a slight positive pressure of air inside the facepiece whether the wearer is inhaling or exhaling to prevent contaminants from entering the facepiece, should any slight face-to-facepiece seal leakage occur. Because the unit is a pressure-demand device, it can be used with a large, compressed air cylinder or a bank of cylinders set up in cascade fashion. For longer-duration air supplies, the respirator also can be used with a compressor that delivers respirable air to the user within the NIOSH Approved pressure range. PremAire Supplied-Air Respirator Systems sold individually.
